Hydraulic Nut Splitters

Hydraulic Nut Splitters

Prime Hydraulic Nut Splitters are the ideal tools for removing seized and corroded nuts, eradicating the need for unsafe grinding or flame cutting. They are designed with a single acting spring return cylinder. Prime Hydraulic Nut Splitters are suitable for a variety of applications in Straight and Angle Design.

To remove nuts which cannot be removed using torque wrenches or any other tools, the hydraulic Nut splitting is safest, most efficient and cost effective way. The head is fitted with a heavy-duty chisel which split the nuts on a variety of applications

Features of prime hydraulic nut splitters

  • Light and compact design for ease of operation and handling.
  • Dedicated cylinder with minimal stroke for faster operation.
  • Rear end connection for ease of handling and safe-connection.
  • 700 bar working pressure.
  • Specially designed to suit standard flanges.
  • Single-acting, spring return cylinder.
  • Interchangeable heads provide maximum nut range flexibility.
  • Nickel-plated cylinder body for excellent corrosion protection.
  • Unique angled head allows flush access.
  • Heavy-duty chisels can be reground.
  • Applications include servicing trucks, piping industry, tank cleaning, petrochemical, steel construction and mining.

How It Works

Positioning the Nut Splitter

Position the hydraulic nut splitter over the nut that is to be removed. It must fit closely for maximum effectiveness and safety.

Adjusting the Splitter

Align the splitting blade with the surface of the nut so that it is centered on the thickest part to effectively cut through the nut without damaging surrounding components.

Activating the Hydraulic System

Connect the nut splitter to a hydraulic pump. Upon connection, turn on the pump. This builds pressure to drive the blade into the nut.

Nut Splitting Process

Building pressure causes the blade to split the nut into two parts and hence leaving no damage to the bolt and any surrounding equipment.

Removing the Nut

The two halves of the nut should be manually removed once they are split. It is fast and safe with no heat and sparks to make it relatively risk-free.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a hydraulic nut splitter used for?

+
Hydraulic nut splitters are particularly used to safely remove damaged nuts without harming the bolt.

Are hydraulic nut splitters safe for all materials?

+
Yes, absolutely. Hydraulic nut splitters are specially designed to work on most metals

Do I need a hydraulic pump to operate the splitter?

+
Yes, a compatible hydraulic pump is needed to generate the pressure required for splitting nuts.

Can hydraulic nut splitters be used in tight spaces?

+
There are various models of hydraulic nut splitters which are compact and designed for use in tight spaces.

How do I maintain my hydraulic nut splitter?

+
You have to regularly clean the tool after use and also inspect the blade for wear as it ensure hydraulic connections are secure and leak-free.
