PEWL(Square Drive) & PEWY (Hex Drive) Series Gun Type

PEWL(Square Drive) & PEWY (Hex Drive) Series Gun Type

The PEWL series is mainly used to fasten bolts of mechanical equipment and cover a range from 100 to 10000NM. This Electric Torque Wrench is designed to torque specifications in order to exert a fixed amount of torque on a fastener to achieve the required tightening or loosening using an electrical medium. The tool has Square Drive where you need to fix socket matching your nut size & the reaction arm fixing a solid surface to withstand the counter reaction

The PEWY series is mainly used for tightening bolts of steel frame at high altitude covers a range from 100 to 3500NM. This Electric Torque Control Wrench is designed to install heavy structural bolts .Torque Wrenches are applied to the nuts either directly or indirectly using the impact sockets as an accessory that comes in contact with the nut. The tool has a single socket with an integrated reaction bar. The socket engages the nut with the reaction bar contracting a solid surface. The tool drives the nut to its set torque and then shuts off. The tools offer a non- reactive torque controlled option for hex bolt installation.

How It Works

Setup

Position the tool to engage the square or hex drive with the corresponding fastener or application point.

Tool Selection

You have to select the appropriate tool for your work depending upon the nature of your work.

Engage the Tool

Connect the tool to the required power source (pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric).

Execution of Task

Its time for execution as The PEWL (Square Drive) and PEWY (Hex Drive) series have different functions according to the nature of your work.

Monitoring

Set your speed and torque during the operation of the device for proper output and uniformity.

Completion

When the work is done, disconnect the tool and check the results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the difference between the PEWL (Square Drive) and PEWY (Hex Drive) series?

+
A: The majir difference between these two are that PEWL (Square Drive) series is designed for square drive sockets which is suitable for heavy-duty tasks, while the PEWY (Hex Drive) series is designed for hexagonal drive fasteners.

Q2: What types of fasteners can be used with these tools?

+
A: The PEWL (Square Drive) series works with square sockets and the PEWY (Hex Drive) series is compatible with hexagonal fasteners like bolts, screws, and nuts.

Q3: Are these tools available in different power sources?

+
A: Yes, both PEWL and PEWY series gun-type tools are available in pneumatic, hydraulic and electric models.

Q4: Can I use the same drive tool for both square and hex fasteners?

+
A: No, the square drive and hex drive tools are completely designed for different fasteners. The PEWL (Square Drive) series is suitable for square socket fasteners, while the PEWY (Hex Drive) series is particularly for hexagonal fasteners.

Q5: How do I maintain the PEWL and PEWY tools?

+
A: You have to conduct regular maintenance that includes cleaning the tool after use, checking for wear on the drive heads and lubrication of moving parts.
